Equifax Privacy Breach Class Action
HIGGERTY LAW IS CURRENTLY ENGAGING CLIENTS IN RELATION TO A CLASS ACTION AGAINST EQUIFAX FOR A PRIVACY BREACH WHICH OCCURRED ON OR ABOUT JULY 29, 2017. THE CLASS ACTION WAS FILED ON BEHALF OF THE REPORTED 100,000 CANADIAN VICTIMS WHOSE PERSONAL AND CONFIDENTIAL INFORMATION WAS COMPROMISED.
The Claim essentially alleges various acts and omissions by the Equifax and its employee which resulted in the privacy breach and for which they are liable to the affected employees for damages, including for an intrusion on their privacy, an increased risk of identity theft, financial fraud, financial losses and psychological injury. The proposed class action includes all persons in Canada who purchased from the defendants, their subsidiaries or related companies the following products:
- Equifax Complete Advantage;
- Equifax Complete Premier; and
- Equifax Complete Friends and Family
OR any other Equifax products offering credit monitoring and identity theft protection and whose personal information stored on Equifax database was accessed without authorization between May 1, 2017 and August 1, 2017.
If your personal and confidential information was stored on Equifax databases and was accessed without authorization between May 1, 2017 and August 1, 2017, you could be eligible for compensation.
